I have now rented numerous trucks, vans and trailers from Bellingham U-Haul and they have proved to be easy to work with and knowledgeable. Every interaction was as smooth as possible, and Jesse went out of his way to make our otherwise stressful moving experience as good as it could be.

I own a classic 1988 van, and I needed a hitch installed—simple enough, right? The catch: I wanted to keep my spare tire in its original spot. A nice fella named Jesse helped us with our trailer rental. He was very friendly and competent and helpful. He offered us the reasonably priced insurance, which was a good idea - many things can happen beyond our control which can have financial consequences. He hooked us all up, doubled checked and photoed what he did, and had us on our way to pickup a grill from Costco. Jesse also told us about U-Haul's service of selling propane tanks, and how one gets a free fill-up upon purchase. I quickly googled local costs, and saw it was a great deal. We had a good experience here. The cargo van we rented (online) for the day was ready at our reservation time, first thing in the morning. The employees were efficient and the van was very clean. We brought it back late in the afternoon and it just took a couple of minutes to check it back in. The dolly we rented was in good condition and quite heavy duty. The floor of the back of the cargo van is lined with rubber, so things didn't slide around (even a heavy chair!). The prices for packing supplies (boxes, packing tape, etc.) were reasonable. Unorganized and feel scammed. We made an appointment in person for a 20 foot truck and they told us we could return it in 24 hours to a different location (over an hour away, where we are moving). However, when we went to pick up the truck at 7:00 am on 3/13, the employee working said “that won’t work. We need the truck returned here because it is going to Vegas tomorrow”. So, we had to pay about $100 extra for distance and had to spend $60 more on gas because we had to drive it all the way back to Bellingham after our move.
